Brookstone Homes President Shannon Lachenman explained why his company decided to be part of the project.
“There’s multiple good reasons to have a housing development like this in the region,” Lachenman said. “This development promotes walkability and camaraderie in the community.”

Union Village is a 1,230-acre master planned community that includes a variety of homes, shopping, dining and green spaces. The development is based on the 10 Principles of New Urbanism, which include walkability, sustainability, and other values that make the development unique to southwest Ohio.
The story of Union Village has been reported by the Dayton Daily News since it was plans on paper. As the award-winning plan comes to life, the newspaper has been there to follow progress.

"That's what everyone is looking for right now,” Doyle said. “They're looking for that age-in-place, walkability, live, work, play type environment."
